All was silent as before –
All silent save the dripping rain…
A multi-ethnic cuisine restaurant with the theme of authentic pre-independent era cuisines of Bengal, will soon be opened to satisfy the taste bud of gourmets in Kolkata
Edibly Yours ~ the new restaurant will come up at south Kolkata and depending on the success of the restaurant Mr Gautam Majumder, the owner, will open up branches at other parts of Kolkata in future.
Mr Majumder says that although there are many food joints in the city serving fusion cuisine but the need for authentic multi-ethnic cuisine restaurant has not yet been met and pre-independence era cuisine has almost disappeared even from the daily household. He, hence, attempts to bring back those mostly long lost pre-independence era cuisines of Portugal, Afghanistan, Mughals and of course Bengal to the food lovers of Kolkata.
An array of delicacy cuisines to choose from cozido, moussaka, lahori kebab, galouti kebab, somasi, fish n chips, Irish stew, Sunday roast, lettuce tuna/prawn salad
and so on. Sweet dish includes “Jo Jo 160” which originated a hundred and sixty years ago, dilkhush, lemon tart, trifle pudding etc.
A cup of black coffee with a piece of cheese and a tasteless biscuit comes complimentary with every continental cuisine.
The event which announced the advent of the restaurant was graced with the presence of Mr Sachidananda Banerjee, chairman of KMC, renowned historian Mr Gautam Bhadra and the like.
